Assad’s Yazigi: The health situation in Syria is stable
Assad regime’s health minister Nizar Yazigi said during a meeting with a delegation of the Syrian community in Italy that “the health situation in Syria is stable despite the challenges and the economic blockade imposed on the Syrian people.”

Just a few days after Russian warplanes bombed one of the few remaining field hospitals in Aleppo, rendering it useless and killing a much loved surgical nurse who had refused to abandon the people of his homeland in their hour of need, Yazigi also said that the ministry is working on “rehabilitating health institutions, opening new health centers and hospitals and licensing new pharmaceutical factories to meet the growing medical needs.”

One has to wonder exactly what “growing medical needs” Yazigi was referring to.

Could it be possible that he was thinking of the tens of thousands of Syrians suffering from malnutrition in the areas that are being subjected to deliberate starvation sieges by the regime that he works for?

Or perhaps he meant the multitude of Syrians who have been critically injured by the barrel bombs that his employer continues to have dropped on them in their homes.

Or just maybe Yazigi was thinking of the hundreds of thousands of Syrians who have been made amputees, or those who have been paralyzed by spinal cord injuries or have suffered brain trauma from head injuries as a result of being made sacrifices to the super inflated egos of his boss and his criminal gang of foreign BFFs?

Even as the Assad regime continues its stalling tactics and insistence that Syria is a sovereign state, and that its fate can only be determined by Syrians, it persists in ignoring the existence and the suffering of millions of Syrians as if they already no longer exist while continuing in its daily efforts to eradicate them.

We are hoping that someone will listen to those in Geneva who are attempting to be the voice of those Syrians who appear as nothing more than targets in the minds of Assad and his minions.

We are also hoping and praying that they will be able to make themselves heard and insist that unless the voices of those invisible Syrians are counted, and their ability to use them protected, that there will be no possibility of negotiating with a regime that chooses to be deaf, dumb and blind to anything but its own self-serving agenda.

We are also turning the tables on you Staffan de Mistura.

You told the HNC that this was their last chance for negotiating peace for Syria. But we have known all along that in spite of your claims it is not possible to negotiate with an egotistical madman. Rather it is your last chance to prove whether you are willing to finally admit to the Security Council that negotiations are impossible and ask them to implement the measures necessary for the protection of the Syrian people.
