The UN’s International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced today that the first batch of Syrian refugees residing in Egypt has left to Canada, AA reported.
In a statement released by IOM’s office in Cairo, the organization said that “the first batch, composed of 39 Syrians, have left Egyptian territory today dawn heading towards Canada.”
The organization clarified that this groups is the first of 600 people, of whom are 47% children.
