Greece, clearing of Idomeni camp continues
The second day of clearing the migrant camp in Idomeni at the Greek border with Macedonia is moving forward on Wednesday.

When the police arrived at about 8:30 a.m. (7:30 a.m. in Italy), some of the refugees had already boarded the two coaches headed for other migrant camps in the country.

More than 700 police are working in the operation to clear the camp, which began at sunrise on Tuesday. During the first day of the operation, 2,000 of the 8,000 total migrants were moved, ANSAmed reported.

The Guardian reported yesterday that hundreds of Greek riot police begin evacuating the country’s largest makeshift refugee camp, at Idomeni on the border with Macedonia. The camp is home to about 8,400 people, including hundreds of children.
