Killings reported in Latakia’s Jableh after car bomb explosion
At least 10 people were killed and 15 others were injured Thursday after a car bomb killed exploded in the center of Jableh city in the coastal province of Latakia, Orient News correspondent reported.

The blast hit a busy part of the town. The explosive-laden car was parked at a corner near the Municipal Stadium, targeting the sports hall in particular. When the bomb went off, it burnt another five other cars parked nearby.

Our correspondent said that the death toll is likely to rise as rescue operations are still ongoing and scores of injured being rushed to nearby hospitals.

Nobody has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.

The city of Jableh is a coastal city on the Mediterranean and located 25 km (16 miles) south of Latakia. It is also near Hmeimim Airbase, which has become occupied by Russians.
