2 children die in refugee camp fire in Aleppo countryside
Two children and their mother died on Monday when fire devoured their caravan at al-Iman camp for internally displaced people (IDP) in Aleppo northern countryside, according to Orient News correspondent.

The camp management said the fire started due to a problem in their improvised primitive stove. Most IDPs lack means of heating and resort to improvised solutions that are not safe.

Last December, a similar incident took place in Bab al-Salamah camp. Two children and one man died in a fire that burnt their makeshift tent.

Snowfalls and freezing temperatures have aggravated the suffering of internally displaced people who have to endure dire conditions in inadequate makeshift shelters. The displaced lack proper clothing and means for heating and depend on aid for food and medicine.
