Euphrates Shield “neutralizes” 18 ISIS terrorists in northern Syria
Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions backed by the Turkish Army “neutralized” 18 ISIS terrorists on Wednesday in northern Syria as part of Operation Euphrates Shield, Anadolu Agency reported citing the Turkish military.

During the last 24 hours the operation targeted 182 ISIS positions including shelters, buildings and vehicles. Warplanes from the US-led coalition hit three ISIS targets in support of the operation.

Russian jets also hit the terrorist group’s positions in al-Bab city. Turkey and Russia has recently signed an agreement to coordinate air operations in Syria.

Turkish military sources usually use the word “neutralized” to mean that the target was either killed or captured.

On 24 August, Turkey-backed FSA factions started Operation Euphrates Shield in northern Syria and have since liberated the cities of Jarablus and al-Raei in addition to dozens of villages in Aleppo countryside. FSA fighters have been advancing towards al-Bab and are now on the outskirts of the city.
