Syrian Civil Defence calls to help vulnerable besieged people in Ghouta
The Syrian Civil Defence group, also known as the White Helmets, has issued a statement dated on Monday (November 6) in which an appeal has been sent to the International Community to turn it immediate attention to the vulnerable civilians who are starved to death by Assad terrorists.

The White Helmets addressed the United Nations Secretary-general Antonio Guterres, all international organizations working on Syria and the guarantors states of the de-escalation agreement in Syrian in which Eastern Ghouta was included in May 2017 to take an immediate action in order to save people of al-Ghouta where 390.000 have been besieged since October 10, 2013.

The group said the siege had been tightened since the beginning of June, and the siege had killed ten people due to malnutrition, while the Assad bombing increased civilians’ suffering.

It also urged the world to work according to the International Law and the principles of human rights on lifting the siege imposed by Assad regime on the Eastern Ghouta, explaining that lifting the siege would give the Red Crescent the access to reach the besieged areas to deliver aid supplies and improve life conditions.

The statement stressed on the importance of opening a humanitarian safe corridor to evacuate the critical conditions among the patients and to allow basic food materials reach into the innermost parts of the Eastern Ghouta. Thus life will return to normal.

In the end, the Civil Defence group expressed its preparedness to assist in any step to ensure the survival of civilians and the alleviation of their suffering.
