Tribal leaders meet Turkish officers in Hama countryside’s Morek
Turkish officers at their observation post in Hama countryside’s Morek met elderly leaders from the town on Wednesday (August 15), Orient News’ Feras Karem said.

The Turkish chief commander, in the post, said, joint work was very necessary at this phase to build the bridge of trust between the locals and the Turks in the area to protect Idlib from any offensive could be launched by the Assad militias, according to Karem.

Locals were told that the Turkish posts were deployed - according to international deals - to protect Idlib and its countryside, leaks from the meeting purported.

Concerning the Turkish attitude towards Idlib, a Turkish officer said that the Turkish foreign minister told his Russian counterpart: “Locate for us the terrorists’ positions and we will deal with them,” adding that Ankara will never allow bombing the whole of Idlib under the pretext of terrorism.

The Turkish officers said the regime would not progress towards the opposition-held areas in Idlib and that the Assad reinforcements were to demoralize Syrians.

The Turkish officers also told civilians to stay in their villages, adding they sent a request to the Turkish government for explanation, the response of which will reach within 48 hours.

The tribal leaders came from al-Tamanaa, Atshan, Sekake, al-Khwein, Om Jalal and Om al-Khalakheel in Hama northern countryside and Idlib southern countryside.
