Fifteen civilians were killed - most of them children and women - on Wednesday and tens were seriously injured in exchange of bursts of fire between opposition fighters and the ISIS-affiliated groups in Daraa countryside’s Jeleen , Syria Live Network (SLN) reported.
Many local news agencies in Daraa reported that opposition fighters launched major offensives to take control over the headquarters and bases of al-Muthanna, ISIS-affiliated fighting group, in the town of Jeleen.
On the other side, 10 members of the al-Yarmouk Martyrs Brigades were killed when opposition fighters frustrated an attempt by them to take control over Sahm al-Golan and Heit in Daraa western countryside. Al-Yarmouk Martyrs Brigades are accused by opposition of making pledge to ISIS and they pursue the same strategy of sending car bombs with suicide attackers to kill as many as possible of the opposition fighters, but the opposition fighters succeeded in destroying the car bomb by a guided missile before reaching its target.
These clashes come after al-Muthanna destroyed the bridge of al-Hurair which links al-Mezereeb to Jeleen Dwellings in the same area.
It is worthy to note that al-Nusra Front’s commander Tareq al-Masalma was killed by the ISIS-affiliated groups during the ongoing fighting in the area last Monday.
