Iranian militias launch offensive on Damascus’ Wadi Barada
Iranian and Hezbollah terrorists did not stop attacks on Wadi Barada in Damascus western countryside despite the ceasefire announced in Syria.

“Opposition fighters repelled today a new attempt by Assad mercenaries to progress into Wadi Barada from the two axes of Wadi Bessima and Wadi al-Dahr,” the local media activist Mua’az al-Kalamoni told Orient Net.

Meanwhile, Assad warplanes condensed their airstrikes on Wadi Barada on the tenth consecutive day. Ein al-Fijeh, Deir Meqren, Kefir Zeit were under Assad regime’s barrel and napalm bombs. The air attacks caused significant damage in the residential buildings.

Civil organizations in addition to civil defense societies called upon the states which brokered the ceasefire in Syria to use their influence in stopping the indiscriminate attacks on the main source of drinking water in Damascus. The societies also said that attacking Fatth al-Sham’s positions in Wadi Barada were mere lies and false pretexts to justify airstrikes, as there are no positions for the group in the area.

Opposition fighters have given Russia until 8:00 p.m. Syria local time to stop Hezbollah and Assad regime attacks on Wadi Barada and other areas under attack, otherwise they will consider the ceasefire deal void and will take all necessary military action to respond to the attacks.

FSA spokesman Osama Abu Zeid called on all opposition fighting groups to be ready to continue operations and do whatever they can to save Wadi Barada.

A countrywide ceasefire in Syria went into effect at midnight on Thursday (2200GMT), after Turkey, Russia and opposition fighting factions reached a deal in the Turkish capital Ankara. According to the deal, Turkey and Russia would act as guarantor countries for the implementation of the ceasefire.
