"The opposition fighting groups in the FSA committed to the Turkish-Russian Syria truce deal reached in the Turkish capital, Ankara. We observed the truce in all the Syrian soil, but those areas controlled by ISIS. The guarantor states pledged to oblige Assad regime and its Iranian allies of Shiite militias to commit to the truce. But the regime and its allies continued their breaches, especially in Damascus western countryside’s Wadi Barad, the Eastern Ghouta, Hama countryside and Daraa. Assad terrorists also bombed Ein al-Fijeh, the main source of drinking water in Damascus and its countryside. They not only bombed the town of Ein al-Fijeh but also called on its residents to leave it in a similar call to the residents of Mahajjeh in Daraa and other towns and cities in Damascus eastern countryside. Despite the repeated call on the guarantor states to meet their obligations in curbing and stopping Assad regime’s breaches, the breaches have not stopped. These attacks threaten the lives of thousands of Syrian civilians. Depending on the deteriorating conditions, the FSA groups, which signed the deal, announce the following:
- Freezing all talks and deliberations related to Astana until the truce deal is completely implemented.
- Assad regime and its allies’ attempts to take control of new areas are a pivotal breach of the truce. These attempts bring back the situation to the first square. This is also the responsibility of the guarantor states.
- When guarantor states do not commit to the articles of the ceasefire, many questions about ability to oblige Assad regime and its allies will be posed. The questions will also be posed about any other commitments based on this truce deal."
