Assad airstrikes claim 7 lives in Homs’ Talbiseh

Assad regime warplanes targeted Monday the town of Talbiseh north of Homs, killing at least 7 civilians and injuring eight others, Orient News correspondent reported.

The deadly strikes hit residential buildings using thermobaric (vacuum) bombs. Initial estimates indicate that at least seven civilians have been killed while 27 others injured, Orient New correspondent says, adding that the death toll could rise as many are in critical condition.

Also, Assad regime’s artillery targeted residential areas and caused destruction in properties, according to locals.

A countrywide ceasefire in Syria was declared on Thursday (29 December 2016), after Turkey, Russia and opposition fighting factions reached a deal in the Turkish capital Ankara. According to the deal, Turkey and Russia would act as guarantor countries for the implementation of the ceasefire.
