Ahrar al-Sham opposition fighting group announced on Friday (June 30) the losses it inflicted on Khalid Ibn al-Waleed fighting group, which pledges allegiance to ISIS, after fighting in the surroundings of Hiet town in Daraa western countryside.
The media office of Ahra al-Sham published an infographic that showed the details of the ISIS-affiliated group.
According to the infographic, 35 terrorists from the Khald Ibn al-Waleed group were killed in Hiet town, while 3 tanks, a BMP vehicle, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED), a bulldozer, in addition to 23mm anti-aircraft gun and another 14.5 mm gun were destroyed by Ahrar al-Sham.
A BMP vehicle was also seized from the group by Ahrar al-Sham, in addition to seizing weapons and ammunition.
Last week, opposition fighting factions repelled attempts by Khaled Ibn al-Waleed group to storm the town of Hiet in Daraa western countryside, near the border with Jordan.
The ISIS-affiliated group occupied al-Yarmouk basin area in early February, when it launched a sudden offensive on the Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters in the surrounding areas, exploiting FSA fighters’ preoccupation with fighting the Iran-backed Shia foreign militias in al-Mensheyya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad.
