Health workers in Syria’s Idlib protest Assad attacks
Health workers in Syria’s Idlib staged a silent sit-in to protest the assault and attacks by Assad regime and its supporters on hospitals and health centers, Orient correspondent said.

Dozensof doctors, nurses and ambulance drivers gathered on Sunday (Sep. 16) in front of the Directorate of Health in Idlib city center, Orient correspondent added.

They raised placards which read: “medical staff are not a Target,” “this land is ours, we will never leave,” and “the terrorist is the one who kills doctors and destroys hospitals.”

The demonstrators reminded the UN of her responsibility of protecting health workers

“Our message to people in northern Syria is that we support your peaceful demonstrations, and we will always stay with you,” One of the demonstrators told Orient, and “our message to the international community is that medical facilities should never be targeted by bombardment or during battles,” he added.

The UN warned that such an offensive on Idlib would lead to the "worst humanitarian catastrophe in the 21st century".
