Syrian demonstrators express solidarity with detainees
Tens of thousands of Syrian civilians demonstrated in more than 200 towns and villages in the opposition-controlled areas in the north of Syria, (Sept. 22) on a Friday named, "Neither reconstruction nor constitution are needed before Assad is ousted.”

On the International Day of Peace, peaceful demonstrators expressed their solidarity with Syrian detainees at the Assad regime’s centres.

The demonstrators asked the international community to force Assad regime to release the detainees in its prisons, chanting “free the detainees.”

Significant participation of women and children was noted in the demonstrations, according to Orient correspondents.

They raised a placard which read: “Releasing detainees is more important than constitution and reconstruction.”

Activists say thousands of families have learned of the deaths of their loved ones since Assad regime started to release lists of the tortured-to-death detainees to civil registries around the country.
