The internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the al-Rukban camp demonstrated on Thursday (Oct. 11), Orient news’ Ibrahim Hariri reported.
Hundred of demonstrators appealed to Jordan, fellow Arab peoples, UNICEF and the whole world for help, chanting “we are hungry”.
A child raised a placard which read: “which appeal to human conscience, save us.”
On Monday, two infants died after their health deteriorated due to the lack of baby formula and the lack of doctors in the camp.
UNICEF has urged warring parties in Syria to allow basic health service deliveries to tens of thousands of increasingly desperate Syrians trapped in the camp near the Jordanian border.
