Infant dies in Rukban camp
An infant died on Thursday (Dec. 6) in the al-Rukban camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border due to the lack of health care and the lack of medical supplies, local social media and activists reported.

The four-month old infant died after her health deteriorated due to the lack of medicine and the lack of doctors in the camp, khaed al-Ali, a media activist in al-Rukban reported on his Facebook page.

Khadeeja was not allowed to be transferred to the hospital in Jordan to receive medical treatment.

Last month, a newborn baby also died immediately after his birth because his mother was not allowed to be transferred to Jordan to give birth although she needed caesarean section delivery.

Two young men also died last month because they was not allowed to be transferred to the hospital in Jordan to receive medical treatment.

The civil administration of the al-Rukban camp has appealed to provide the forcibly displaced persons in the camp with basic supplies, after the Assad regime denied access of food to the camp.
