Assad regime shells DMZ in Idlib countryside
The Assad regime’s militias shelled the demilitarized zone (DMZ) of Idlib countryside on Friday (Dec. 21), causing substantial material damage, Orient correspondent said.

Assad militias targeted with artillery shells on Friday’s morning Jarjanaz village in Idlib countryside, causing substantial material damage, Orient correspondent added.

Earlier this month, Assad regime’s rockets and artillery fire shelled the villages of Jarjanaz and al-Tah in Idlib countryside, killing a civilian and injuring at least three civilians, including two children.

Last month, Assad regime’s rocket launchers and artillery fire shelled Jarjnaz village, killing at least 10 civilians and injuring others.

A de-escalation zone deal on Idlib was reached by the Russian and the Turkish presidents last September to halt the Assad regime and its allies’ attacks on the northern Syrian city and its countryside.

Idlib is the biggest part of Syria held by opposition fighters, with a population swollen by Syrians who were displaced, following the Assad regime and its allies’ control over other parts of the country.
