FSA’s Maghawir al-Thewra vows to defend IDPs in al-Rukban camp
The Free Syrian Army's Maghawir al-Thewra (The Revolution's Commandos) has announced that its fighters will defend Syrian IDPs in the Rukban camp, the group's media office told Orient News.

The group issued a statement after the US decision to withdraw troops from Syria, "we assure our fellow Syrians that we will not let them down, their future is ours," it said.

The statement also said that the group would not fail Syrians, adding that plans are made for the best scenarios.

No change of any plan will be witnessed by the group, whose task is to protect the 55 Zone from any threat in the east of Syria, the statement explained.

Colonel Muhannad al-Talla'a told Reuters on Saturday (December 22) that the US troops did not leave the al-Tanf military base near the Iraqi border.

The Al-Tanf base is located near the Iraqi-Syria border at the high way which links Iran to Baghdad to Damascus, reaching to Beirut.

The base is the only US military position which is not located in the north where the PKK-affiliated PYD and YPG headquartered.
