A sandstorm hit on Thursday (Dec. 27) the Rukban camp for Syrian internally displaced persons (IDPs) near the Syria-Jordan border.
The sandstorm removed wedges of dozens of tents, leaving the IDPs in the open without any shelter, amid dire hygiene and life conditions.
Media activists have appealed to NGOs and to the UN organizations for help, saying they are living between the rock and the hard place.
In October, two sandstorms hit the camp, pulling out tents and causing severe material damage.
