Syrian opposition factions targeted an Assad militia group in Daraa countryside on Wednesday (Jan. 16), killing and injuring Assad militiamen, Orient correspondent said.
Popular Resistance in Daraa attacked the militiamen near Imam Nawawi Mosque in Nawa city in Daraa countryside, killing three Assad militiamen and injuring an officer, Orient correspondent added.
The Popular Resistance in Daraa has claimed responsibility for the attack that targeted the lieutenant colonel Nedal Khouja and vowed to conduct more attacks.
Later, Orient correspondent confirmed that the Assad regime's Nedal Khouja succumbed to his wounds.
Last month, the same group assassinated two Assad militiamen, including an officer on the road linking the cities of Jasim and Nawa in Daraa countryside.
