Civilian causalities as Russian warplanes intensify shelling on Hama, Idlib
Russian warplanes and Assad militiamen shelled on Friday (May 3) the demilitarized zone (DMZ) of Hama and Idlib countryside, killing and injuring civilians and causing material damage, Orient correspondents said.

Russian warplanes targeted in the early hours of Friday civilian homes in Klidin village in Hama countryside, killing four civilians, including two women, and injuring two children.

Meanwhile, Assad helicopters dropped barrel bombs on Ihsim village in Idlib countryside, killing at least a man and injuring other civilians.

Yesterday, Russian warplanes and Assad helicopters targeted several villages and towns in Hama and Idlib countryside with hundreds of rockets and barrel bombs, killing ten civilians and injuring dozens.

Idlib countryside and Hama countryside are within the de-escalation zone reached by Russia and Turkey last September. Russian warplanes and Assad militiamen have killed hundreds of Syrians since the de-escalation deal reached.
