Local sources say cells belonging to the Assad regime are active in Deir ez-Zoor eastern countryside under the name of ISIS.
The sources told Deir ez-Zoor 24 that these cells threatened shopkeepers and merchants in Diban and al-Tayanah towns in Deir ez-Zoor countryside to kill them or burn their properties unless they pay them bribes with dollars.
The sources pointed out that these cells had been threatening people under the name of ISIS, but they belong to the Assad regime.
These cells have carried out operations throughout the eastern Deir ez-Zoor countryside, confiscating goods and taking money from people at gunpoint.
