Deir ez-Zoor protesters tear Hafez Assad's photo into pieces

Deir ez-Zoor protesters continue their anti-Assad demonstrations in the regime-controlled part of the oil-rich Syrian city, local sources told Orient News.

One of the protesters tore the photo of Hafez Assad, Bashar Assad's father, into pieces on Saturday (Sep 21). The protesters chanted anti-Assad slogans.

Hundred of protesters took to the streets on Friday, calling the Iranian and the Assad militiamen to withdraw from their cities and towns in the east of Euphrates.

The protesters moved from al-Ma'amel (The Factories) area in the town of Salehiyya to capture the checkpoint of Saker petrol station after the Assad militiamen withdrew from it.
