US kills Soleimani who once threatened Trump ’War will destroy everything you own’
General Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iranian regime’s elite Quds Force whom the US assassinated on Friday (January 3) in an airstrike, once threated to destroy all of President Donald Trump’s belongings.

Soleimani said in a July 2018 speech that Donald Trump should address any threats against Tehran directly to him and he mocked the US president as displaying the ethics of “night clubs and gambling halls”, as reported at the time by the Iranian Young Journalists’ Club.

His comments were the latest salvo in a war of words between the two countries which has reached a new level of bellicosity.

“As a soldier, it is my duty to respond to Trump’s threats. If he wants to use the language of threat, he should talk to me, not to the president (Hassan Rouhani),” Soleimani was quoted as saying in the central city of Hamedan.

“You know that this war will destroy all that you possess. You will start this war but we will be the ones to impose its end. Therefore, you have to be careful about insulting the Iranian people and the president of our Republic,” Soleimani said in his speech.

“You know our power in the region and our capabilities in asymmetric war. We will act and we will work,” he added.

Soleimani, who as Quds Force commander is in charge of the Revolutionary Guards’ overseas operations, responded: “Trump’s language is still the ethics of nightclubs and gambling halls”.

An airstrike killed Soleimani, architect of Iranian regime’s regional security apparatus, at Baghdad’s international airport Friday, Iranian regime’s television and three Iraqi officials said – an attack that is expected to draw severe Iranian retaliation against US.

Soleimani had reportedly just arrived to Baghdad on a flight from Syria. Airport logs show a Cham Wings flight arriving from Damascus at 12.34 am Friday Baghdad time, but it's unclear whether Soleiman was on that commercial flight or a private charter.

The Defense Department said Soleimani “was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.” It also accused Soleimani of approving the attacks on the US Embassy in Baghdad earlier this week.

A statement released late Thursday by the Pentagon said the strike on Soleimani “was aimed at deterring future Iranian attack plans.”

President Donald Trump, who was vacationing at his estate in Palm Beach, Florida, sent out a tweet of an American flag.
