Ghassan Aboud, chairman and owner of Dubai-based Ghassan Aboud Group, received the Global Gift Foundation’s Philanthropreneur Award in recognition of his accomplishments as a leading businessman who has made exceptional contributions to philanthropic service.

The award was handed in to a representative of Mr. Aboud during The Global Gift Gala, presented by the Dubai International Film Festival and Dubai Cares and hosted by Eva Longoria in the Four Seasons resort in Dubai on December the 12th.

In accepting the award, Mr. Aboud expressed his gratitude to the Global Gift Foundation for this special honor.

“I also thank the Orient for Human Relief team for their services and precious sacrifices to support to Syrian refugees whether by providing medical services through building hospitals and medical centers, or providing special services to the refugee children and building schools. Without their tremendous efforts and contributions, I would not be honored with this award today. I dedicate this award to the future of Syria’s children and I wish them a future as bright as the one that children of other civilized nations enjoy,” Mr. Aboud added.

Mr. Aboud also stressed the important societal role that businessmen can have in providing services to the community, emphasizing that "it is incumbent upon us to be supportive and offer what we can give during this critical time so that perhaps our children can have a better future.”

The Global Gift Philanthropreneuer Award is presented each year to one businessman dedicated to making societal improvement. Previous winners included several well-respected leaders, celebrities, and philanthropists, such as Deepak Chopra, HRH Prince Azim of Brunei, Farhad Moshiri, Vasily Klyukin, Victoria Beckham, Lara Fabian, Nikos Aliagas, and David Beckham among others.

Mr. Aboud owns the region’s largest vehicle exporter and funds Orient for Human Relief — a non-profit humanitarian relief agency serving Syrian refugees and their children.

In addition to funding Orient for Human Relief, the Ghassan Aboud Group is a proud contributor to the UAE Red Crescent’s “We Care” campaign serving families in Yemen and Dubai Cares, a philanthropic organization working to improve children's access to quality primary education in developing countries.

Ghassan Aboud Group was established 23 years ago in the United Arab Emirates. The Group is a holding company that runs Ghassan Aboud Cars, the world’s leading automotive exporter.
